Iain Austin is the terminal instrument flight procedure design specialist, FAA TERPS & ICAO PANS-OPS, for DragonFly Aeronautics, LLC. In his role, Iain oversees the design development and quality assurance of flight procedure design related to airport and airspace consulting.

An aviation industry professional with nearly 10 years of experience, Iain is a Commercial, Multi-Engine, Instrument pilot with experience in Part 135 and 121 air carrier operations. Iain is also a graduate of the Federal Aviation Administration Academy, where he attended Terminal Instrument Approach Procedure development (TERPS) training and ICAO Procedures for Air Navigation Services – Operations Training (PANS-OPS).

Prior to joining Dragonfly, Iain also held roles at a major aviation charting and navigation data company providing instrument flight procedure design, performance data calculations and obstacle assessments in support of civilian and military operators.

Iain works to ensure that DragonFly Aeronautics provides innovative and progressively dynamic solutions to the customer. He is committed to providing customers with efficient and economically effective solutions while ensuring proper compliance to Federal and International aeronautical standards.

Outside of Dragonfly, Iain is an active general aviation pilot currently pursuing his CFII and enjoys volunteering his time with aviation educational programs.

Iain holds a Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management from The Ohio State University and an AAS in Aviation Technology from San Juan College.

Paul Hannah is the President and Chief Engineer for DragonFly Aeronautics, LLC. In his role, Paul is responsible for managing the strategic vision, operations, business development, consulting service provision and engineering solutions.

As a senior executive with 16 years of experience in Aviation and Flight Operations Engineering, Hannah works to ensure that DragonFly software and services support the complex and dynamic demands of the aviation industry.

As Chief Engineer for DragonFly, Hannah develops and delivers consulting engineering services for aircraft performance engineering, flight operations engineering, airport planning/design/construction, flight safety and regulatory compliance.

Prior to forming DragonFly, Paul served in various business development and engineering roles, including airport analyst, flight operations engineer, aircraft performance engineer, chief flight operations engineer, chief engineer systems operations control, Director of Business Development and VP of Sales. He was President of Flight Operations Engineering, LLC and oversaw its transition from an aviation Center of Excellence for a Canadian aerospace company into a US small business engaged in consulting and software as a service work.

Paul holds a Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering and Mechanics from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities with a minor in Geography.

Alec Seybold is the Vice President of Airport and Airspace Analysis for DragonFly Aeronautics, LLC. In his role, Seybold oversees the development of new web based technologies focused on providing solutions for operators of airports and aircraft. He also manages the daily operations of the DragonFly office that performs airport and airspace consulting, flight procedure design, and aeronautical data collection.

As a professional with nearly 15 years of experience in airline operations, regulatory compliance, and instrument procedure design, Alec works to ensure that DragonFly Aeronautics meets the changing demands of its customers and the aviation industry.

Prior to joining Dragonfly, Alec has served as Director at a Part 121 airline overseeing the compliance and training of personnel and operations. In this role he served as a regulatory compliance liaison to the FAA Principal Operations Inspectors (POI) for two certificates. He has also held roles at a major aviation charting and navigation data company providing instrument flight procedure design and obstacle assessments in support of civilian and military operators.

Outside of Dragonfly, Alec is an active general aviation pilot and co-founder of FlyColorado.org, a nonprofit volunteer organization that works with private, state, and federal entities to advocate, preserve and protect recreational airports in Colorado.

Alec holds a Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management & Technology from Metropolitan State University of Denver. Alec is also a certified member of the American Association of Airport Executives.
